Rights of Patients and Relatives

Rights of Patients and Relatives

Rights of Patients and Relatives
Our aim is to give you and your family the care and attention we would want for ourselves and our own families. We have prepared this brochure to give you a basic explanation of how you should expect to be treated and how you should behave during your stay in hospital. Whenever you have a question, please do not hesitate to ask. Unasked or unanswered questions can lead to an unsatisfactory hospital experience.

Your rights as a patient/relative

Right to benefit from services; Every individual who applies to our hospital has the right to benefit from all services without discrimination of language, religion, race or sect. Our patients have the right to be informed about the services provided.
Right to information and consent; Our patients have the right to receive information about the risks and benefits of medical treatment and interventions in a language and method they understand. Our patients have the right to be clearly informed about the hospital mission.
The right to recognise, select and change personnel; Our patients have the right to know the identities, duties and titles of healthcare professionals involved in their treatment, and the right to select and change them.
Right to choose and change the institution; Our patients have the right to choose and change the health institution and organisation, provided that the procedures and conditions stipulated by the legislation to which they are subject are complied with.
The right to refuse and stop the treatment; Except for legally mandatory cases and the responsibility of the negative consequences that may arise, the patient has the right to refuse or stop the treatment planned or being applied to him/her. When you enter the hospital, you sign a general authorisation that you consent to your treatment.  In some cases, such as surgery, you will be asked to give written confirmation that you understand and agree to what will be done. You have the right to ask for a copy of each document you sign for yourself. This protects your right to authorise or refuse treatment.
You have the right to designate and authorise a health care representative who will tell the hospital and your doctor how you want to be treated and who you want to make decisions for you when you cannot speak for yourself. If you have signed a legal document giving someone else the right to speak for you when you are unable to make decisions about your own health, or if you have any wishes in the event of your life ending, give copies of this document to your doctor, family and health care team.
Right to privacy; Our patients have the right to receive services in an environment suitable for privacy during the entire treatment process. Except for legal obligations, all information belonging to our patients is protected in a way that will remain confidential even after death. You have the right to be examined privately by your doctor or other health personnel and to speak privately with your doctor.
The right to be respected; Our patients have the right to be examined and treated in a respectful, compassionate and friendly environment by protecting their personal reputation as the most important indicator of the sensitivity we carry while giving our hospital its name.
The right to request consultation (second opinion); Our patients have the right to call a consultant physician for their diagnosis and treatment. The consultant physician recommends the treatment, but the patient's primary physician approves the procedure.
The right to fulfil religious obligations; Our patients have the right to fulfil their religious obligations freely, regardless of religious differences and as long as it does not interfere with treatment.
Right to safety; Everyone has the right to expect and demand to be safe in a health institution.
